Dynamic host discovery
Improved host discovery so newly added servers can be included automatically without manually maintaining a fixed host range.
An ongoing PowerShell-based infrastructure project focused on making Hyper-V resource monitoring and capacity planning faster, clearer, and more consistent for day-to-day operations.
The tool collects resource information from Windows Hyper-V hosts and helps with common infrastructure decisions such as new VPS placement, upgrade capacity checks, VM storage balancing, and moving workloads between host machines.
Improved host discovery so newly added servers can be included automatically without manually maintaining a fixed host range.
Added logic to review busy VM-storage partitions, identify larger movable workloads, and suggest a more suitable local storage destination.
Expanded upgrade checks so the tool can identify when the current host has enough capacity and when a workload should be moved before an upgrade.
Added recommendations for moving workloads between host machines to support resource housekeeping and healthier capacity distribution.
Added clearer guidance for workload moves, including when an online migration or a manual transfer approach may be required.
Refined menus, summaries and recommendation output based on operational feedback so the tool is easier for other engineers to understand and use.
The core monitoring and recommendation features are working. Current work is focused on refining the decision logic, improving usability, and validating the tool against more real-world infrastructure scenarios.
